Question #1:
Why did Barrack Obam win a peace prize..?
How can a man who continues to send men and women into a war be awarded a peace prize. With nominations such as French-Colombian activist and former hostage Ingrid Betancourt and Afghan rights activist Sima Samar, who put their lives at risk for their beliefs, why is it a man with a speach wins a prize over people with actions???
FAO Lynx...
Peace does not mean protection at all.
Its definition is to bring harmony, to end hostility, to bring freedom from strife, to bring reconsiliation.
It has nothing to do with protection.
As for prize, well, i do believe there is a cash award and a special coin will be minted with the 'winners' face on it.
I may be ignorant but i do know that Barrack Obama has not brough peace, harmony or reconciliation to others apart from words.
There were other who deserved it far more for what they physically achieved.
Question #2:
how was ingrid betancourt kidnapped exactly?
Was she just put in the boot of a car, or was it more formal than that?Question #3:
Why do some people think that in order to believe in God, you have to believe that he controls your life?
This question was inspired by the meeting for the first time of former hostages Ingrid Betancourt and Alan Johnston. As someone who believes in God, her faith helped her through her captivity. For Johnson, he seems to reject belief in God because "I struggle to believe that God closely manages our individual lives."Click Here
A three hour documentary in 2005 asked the question "The Tsunami: Where was God."
Do most people who don't believe in God think: "The only kind of God I'm prepared to believe in is one who doesn't let bad things happen"?
Thanks for all your answers. This question applies to all religions and people without religion who do/don't believe in God

Question #11:
Why isn't Ingrid Betancourt more well known than Lindsay Lohan?
What happened almost a week ago is an incredible story. Makes you think where the focus of the American public lies today and if it will change.Question #12:
A question about Ingrid Betancourt...?
Now i understand her whole kidnapping deal by the FARC wasn't right and i actually kind of like her by reading about her candidacy, but she talks of how horrible and tragic it was and from things i've read that came from her own mouth said that she didnt miss meals and wasnt beaten or tortured. And actually when she got out the doctor's said that she and her other ex-captives were in "excellent physical condition", i mean with the exception of maybe a couple of good foot blisters it didnt sound like her life in captivity was all so dire as the media has been playing it up to be. I mean she even said that she got bored while she was there. I can understand that, but if your life is so boring then it really dosent sound so desperate does it? Any thoughts?I'm watching her on Larry King Live right now also.
Question #13:
POLL: Do you know who Ingrid Betancourt is??
Question #14:
Why does Ingrid Betancourt deserve the Legion of Honor?
Fine, she was captured by the FARC and she was saved. Yes, but what about all the other people who've been saved, who've survived longer? Betancourt KNEW she was at risk of being kidnapped when she went to the Colombian interior. She's done nothing special, except be a mildly successful politician who was recaptured. It really pisses me off when all of a sudden people nobody gave a shit about are important because of some mildly interesting detail. Like Bhutto for example. She died and all of a sudden everyone was mourning her like she was the greatest person in the world. It's my opinion that Betancourt has done NOTHING special to deserve the Legion of Honor and its all pure politics from Sarkozy. What do you guys think?Question #15:
Should Ingrid Betancourt get the Nobel Peace Price?
Why (not)?Question #16:
Ingrid Betancourt (freed Farc hostage) : didn't she conceive and deliver a baby while in captivity?
