Not sure about you, but with so many poor and starving people in the world why is all this money going to a foundation for dogs?

Ms. Helmsley, who was 87 when she died in 2007, bequeathed property, cash, stocks, and bonds worth an estimated $5.2-billion --most of her estate-- to the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust, which is poised to become one of the wealthiest foundations in the country because of the bequest.

The 2003 mission statement also raises questions about the focus of the foundation. In that document, Ms. Helmsley states that while the charitable trust should support the care of dogs, it should also support "medical and health-care services for indigent people, with emphasis on providing care to children," and support a hospital, to carry out such care. The 2003 document also gives the trustees some room to determine other causes the foundation could support.

In March 2004, however, Ms. Helmsley signed another mission statement that revoked the 2003 document. In the new statement, Ms. Helmsley dropped the provision to help people.

She said a year ago she didn't know what the V.P. does. Now, a year later, she describes the job - but describes it incorrectly. (This isn't tough calculus or physics type stuff!) And she thinks running for VP is the same as winning the lottery and gives entitlement to act and dress like Leona Helmsley while pandering to the lowest base among already challenged republicans.

Can she be deemed "challenged" or is "slow learner" the better description? She hasn't shown herself to learn anything yet - slowly or otherwise.

in august 2007, Leona helmsley the late billionairess died and it was widely reported that she left £6 million dollars in her will to her Maltese dog.
now it is Leona's money and no one could rightly tell her what is to be done with it when she died,
but one can't help wondering why anyone would leave so much money to be used to maintain a dog?
in the lifetime of a dog it does not cost anywhere near £6 million to keep it well fed and cared for.
back at the start of the human family
a ransom was needed to free us from the long lasting effects of sin.
god paid for it not by money but by the blood of his first born son jesus.
through him our sins can be forgiven and we have the hope of everlasting life on earth.
a dog cannot appreciate being left £6 million dollars... we have been given something worth more than money...are we grateful?
no one else could have paid the ransom to free us from the sentence of death from sin.
shouldn't we be grateful since we understand kindness?
