1. You were a child from the 2000's if you talked to your friends with text messages and emails more often than face to face.
2. You were a child from the 2000's if you remember teams like the Montreal Expos and Seattle Supersonics.
Thanks in advance! J.G.

Question #5:

What are opinions of the German name♂ Detlef/Detlev?

I am partial German heritage and I seem to like this name.

The first time I heard of the name was some foreign exchange student from (former East) Germany to my high school a few years before my birth by the name of Detlef Schrempf. Not only he brought the school to the 1981 Washington State Championship but he used to play in the NBA for the Dallas Mavericks, the Indiana Pacers, the (former) Seattle SuperSonics and the Portland Trailblazers.

Again, what are your opinions of the name Deltef/Delev?

Question #6:

Who would you say is better Magic Johnson or Michael Jordan?

In my view I would say that Magic Johnson was better than Michael Jordan for the following reasons.

1. He dominated against better competition. Winning 5 rings in only 11 seasons. He basically beat teams in the NBA finals that Jordan could not beat such as 76ers who had Dr. J, Darryl Dawkins, and once Moses Malone, Celtics which had probably best frontline in NBA with Bird, Mchale, Parish, Detroit who had joe dumars, isaih thomas, great defenders like rodman, salley, and Mahorn. Jordan won 6 in 14 seasons with Bulls against teams that the 80's Lakers would have knocking out easily like Utah Jazz, Seattle Supersonics, Phoenix Suns, and Trail Blazers.

2. Magic was more versatile being able to play any position on court whereas Jordan only really played sg because he was considered to be too selfish to play the point, and to small in weight and in strength to play small forward.

3. Magic made his team better. Kareem Abduljabbar was no longer the best center from 1985 and with Magic as point he still got over 15 points in each season. James Worthy got most of his points from fastbreak assists from Magic Johnson and good passes which made it easy for him since he was not a great outside shooter or ballhander. Byron Scott and Michael Cooper also who were not great ballhandlers scored alot with Magic feeding them the ball.

Question #9:

Had the Seattle SuperSonics ever won anything?

I know they're now the Oklahoma City Thunder, but I'm really wondering that. Did they ever win a Championship, got an MVP award, a Rookie of the Year award, etc?

Question #10:

NBA Trivia! <>10 Points<>?

I Went to Maryland for college.
I was drafted in the top 10
I have PLAYED for LAClips,New York Knicks and Seattle supersonics. (One team i have not listed to make it harder)
In 2006, I had a game where I got over 20 rebounds
Hoopfan (The Special One) got it
Chris Wilcox
Am I making these questions to easy?

Question #11:

Somewhat Difficult? Build This Team.?

This might be a little tough; but I figured I'd ask. Thinking back on the 1979 Seattle Supersonics and 2004 Detroit Pistons -- two teams with no big-time "superstars" or "Hall Of Famers" (though I believe DJ should be in.) Do your best to build a Starting 5 of Today's NBA players that could compete for an NBA Championship consisting of No Stars or players 'on pace' for a Hall Of Fame spot, and build a team of the past using players who are not currently in the Hall Of Fame.

I realize this is tough, but give it a go. A true test here!

BQ Trivia: Who was the team that ended the 72 Lakers, 33-consecutive wins streak.
Good answers so far! Nice answer Marshall J, especially that All-Time team

Question #12:

Your thoughts on David Stern and the 1993 Western Con. Finals (The most unimportant important NBA conspiracy)?

The 1993 Seattle SuperSonics, lead by an aging Ricky Pierce and extremely young Kemp and Payton, lost in the Western Finals in game 7 to Phoenix, and a Charles Barkley in his prime, with Phoenix shooting 64 free throws in that game.

While Phoenix had a better reg. season record, Seattle was a better defensive team and could still score - and were primed to take the Western Con. Championship.

They just lacked the "SUPERSTAR" identity that Phoenix had and couldn't bring in enough $ for Stern to let them take their rightful place in the finals.

Question #13:

Which city deserves a franchise in the NBA.?

Personally I think that Seattle deserves a team. With how they lost the Supersonics and all it wasn't good. And it wouldn't be bad to see another team here in Canada. Possibly a good one because the Raps can't do anything even with Colangelo's heroics!

Question #14:

3 coolest names for an NBA team?

I am a Laker fan but their name isn't my favorite.

Here are my TOP THREE.
1. Golden State Warriors (No city....but Golden State)
2. Seattle Supersonics.
3. Houston Rockets

Name yours please.
PS I don't like the Pacers name because it reminds me of the ugly car AMC PACER. They should call themselves the RACERS instead IMO.

Question #15:

Rate my 8 bars.........?

Just a quick little 8 bars.
Rate, hate, appreciate.

Rapping for me is not a fantasy
It is more like a dynasty
I'm the San Antonio Spurs
And your the Seattle Supersonics
Move your whole city to Oklohoma
My flow will put you in a deadly coma
Bars so hot make this track melt, smell that hot aroma
Make you come out that seatbelt, just to have my heat melt ya.

Question #16:

Seattle fans, how do you feel that the Seattle Supersonics are no more?

I was born in Seattle so obviously I was in favor of the Sonics. However, after the departure of Ray Allen who matured the Sonics into a better team plus his teammates the Sonics became the Thunder due to Financial problems. Its seems as though Seattle will never be the same...
I know this is old but I want to know your reaction.

Question #17:

Will St. Louis Missouri get an NBA team in 2010?

With rumors that the Rams are going to move out.(Stadium top ten guarantee, can leave if St. Louis doesn't get a better stadium) With Oklahoma City Thunder moved from Seattle, the team tradition is still staying in Seattle, and I believe (not for sure though) David Stern said there will be Seattle Supersonics again once the New Stadium in Seattle is finished.(Which I believe that is supposed to happen in 2010) If that happens they will be 31 NBA teams. Odd number, so I think you move The Grizzlies to the Eastern Conference, and make a team in St. Louis. The new team location could be in San Diego, Vancouver, Boise, St. Louis, Kansas City, Some place in Mexico, Canada, or Europe. Will St. Louis get a NBA team, and will it be able to stick. This might happen it might not, but with New Rams owner and St Louis sucking in Football and Unbelievable fan support in St. Louis this can happen.

Question #18:

Looking at the Kobe-Shaq from the other side?

Before the Lakers won the NBA Championship, we constantly heard for weeks about how Kobe needed to win a Championship without Shaq to "solidify" his status as an NBA Great. But over the many decades of basketball, if you look at it, not many NBA teams have won with only ONE Hall Of Famer on it's roster. Most great teams have had a "Dominant Duo." Sure, Pau Gasol is a very solid player, but far from an NBA Hall Of Fame-caliber player. In fact the only two NBA teams that come to my mind that have won NBA titles with fewer then two Hall Of Famers (or future Hall Of Famers) are the 2004 Detroit Pistons and 1979 Seattle Supersonics, both of which had zero Hall Of Famers.

Shaq had Kobe and Wade -- both can't miss Hall Of Famers.
Jordan had Pippen -- both Hall Of Famers.
Duncan had Robinson then Parker and Ginobili (all but Parker are locks.)
Magic had Kareem and Worthy.
Isiah Thomas had Joe Dumars.
Hakeem Olujuwon had Clyde Drexler.
Kobe had ...Pau Gasol?

Just my thoughts on the matter, that it's been possibly under-looked on how dominant Kobe Bryant has been by himself in this title run. I'm just curious on what this tells us about Kobe Bryant's status as an All-Time Great, possibly the state of the changing NBA, or maybe even Phil Jackson's hand in the matter? I'm not a Lakers fan, just a fan of the NBA who had this thought..
Blaze: Great point on Hakeem, that one slipped my mind. Rick Barry as well.

Question #19:

Who wants the Seattle Supersonics back?

Seriously....wdf is Oklahoma City? Who cares about that place having a franchise..?
It's not up to the team to be lost to another city....The owner does it. But some quadruple account using, fake Hawaiian chick in search of euphoria through getting a BA on Y!A wouldn't know. I don't blame you, Lil Doucheami.

Question #20:

If the Coyotes actually move to Hamilton, what should their name be?

The Hartford Whalers move and they are called the "Carolina Hurricanes", the Quebec Nordiques move and they are called the "Colorado Avalanche", the Winnipeg Jets move and they are called the "Phoenix Coyotes", in the NFL the Houston Oilers move and they are called the "Tennessee Titans",and in the NBA the Seattle Supersonics move and they are now called the "Oklahoma City Thunder". Rarely ever does a team move and keep their name. There has a been a few teams that kept the original name. But not many. So,,,,what would be a good name if the Coyotes move to Hamilton? Should they still be called the Coyotes? Should they give a shout out to their old name and be called the Jets? Or should they just get a new name?
Leafsfan 29 - I asked if they "actually" move. Not "when" they move. It was just a question for fun.
Expat Mike - funny answer. I know you are against this move. I've read your statements before. I am against it too. I prefer the team in Winnipeg. Winnipeg has more people than Hamilton. The team couldn't survive in winnipeg back in the day, but now they could because there is a salary cap.
Whenever I think of a pro sports team with the name Tigers I think of the baseball team the detroit Tigers. True many teams in different sports share a name. But I'm not wild about that idea.
