Question #1:

why do scietists think the Tunguska event was caused by a large meteoroid and not a comet ?

why do scietists think the Tunguska event was caused by a large meteoroid and not a comet ?

Question #2:

What are the chances of an asteroid 50 metres across or larger impacting earth within the next 50 years?

To clarify: this refers to both known (i.e. watched) but also unknown/unwatched asteroids, and by 'impact' I include fireball devastation without physical impact. I've selected 50m as I understand this to be a suitable baseline to cause a lot of problems if it hit anywhere other than Siberia, but if you are aware of a lower threshold please use that. I'm asking this question as I've read that the 1908 Tunguska event is a "one in a thousand" event, and cannot believe this to be true. Please backup all your answers with good sources where possible. Thanks

Question #3:

Is it true that element 115 ( Ununpentium ) came from a meteor from outer space that was named Tunguska?

I may be incorrect, but I would like to be sure about it. I'm pretty sure "Tunguska" came from the "Tunguska Event" which was an explosion of a meteor 3-6 miles above Krasnoyarsk Krai of Russia.
Oops, correction . On June 24th 1938 a 450-metric-ton meteorite exploded about 12 miles above the earths surface near Chicora, Pennsylvania. Many people believe the explosion caused a zombie outbreak. In Jeremiah 9:12 it says " Death has come up to our windows, it has entered our palaces, to cut off the children from the streets and the young men from the squares " I'm not quite sure where I got that, but that doesn't matter. But scientists did find an alien in Tunguska that they called Derese. Die Glocke in German is "The Bell", was a top-secret technological device that was created by Third Reich scientists during WW2, it was claimed to be a "Wonderwaffe". Referring to anti gravity and free energy. Wonderwaffe in German means "Wonder Weapon". The Bell was created in an underground facility called "Der Riese" which means "The Giant" in German. Call me a psycho and I will agree.

Question #4:

Did Wardenclyffe Cause Tunguska?

7:17 AM on the morning of June 30, 1908, a mysterious explosion occurred in the skies over Siberia. 1000 x the power Hiroshima. Tesla, in March 1907, did state that he was capable of "projecting wave energy" and, in April 1908, Tesla expounds on the possibilities of "direct application of electrical waves without the use of aerial engines or other implements of destruction".

It is not certain if Tesla ever used the Wardenclyffe facility for this manner. Reports of 1908 have Tesla testing the facility during Robert Peary's second North Pole expedition. Reportedly, Tesla operated the Wardenclyffe facility to send enormous power to an area west of the Peary expedition. Tesla's associate, George Scherff, witnessed these events at Wardenclyffe Tower. During the test, Wardenclyffe tower emitted a faint soft glow and killed an animal. Analysis of Peary's position and Tunguska deviates by 2 degrees on a straight line from the Wardenclyffe facility.
The chief difficulty in the asteroid theory is that a stony object should have produced a large crater where it struck the ground, but no such crater has been found. It has been hypothesized that the passage of the asteroid through the atmosphere caused pressures and temperatures to build up to a point where the asteroid abruptly disintegrated in a huge explosion. The destruction would have had to be so complete that no remnants of substantial size survived, and the material scattered into the upper atmosphere during the explosion would have caused the skyglows. However, it remains an open question why the meteorite should have disintegrated so abruptly.
Electromagnetic effect
The Tunguska Event does appear to be similar to magnetic storms that occur after thermonuclear explosions (such as from a nuclear weapon) in the stratosphere. Anomalous concentrations of electrical energy in the region could have produced an explosive releases of energy. Electromagnetic fireballs, spherical plasmoids, and ball lightning have been reported to exhibit the same phenonomena. Other plasma and geomagnetic theories have been formed. V. K. Zhuravlev and A. N. Dmitriev, in 1984, proposes a "heliophysical" model that explains the Tunguska event as a result of plasmoids ejected from the Sun. Valeriy Buerakov also develops an independent model of an electromagnetic "ball" that could deliver such force.

Question #5:

What do you believe really happened to cause the Tunguska Event? Human science, alien, meteorite, ? What?

Thank you for your answers.
You can read about it here if you don't know of what I am speaking.

Do you think it will happen again?

Question #6:

My theory of alien proof... please read and leave comment on wut u think!?

I just had a theory on proof that aliens exist that i think is brilliant. what if the hole in the ozone layer that apparwently is causing global warming was not made by bad human action but by aliens so they could pass through the atmosphere to come to earth and study humans. I mean there ships must be really light so it can hover so it probobly wouldnt be strong enoupgh to get the the atmosphere. people say the tunguska event was aliens trying to say hello but wat if the blast was them breaking into the stmosphere. have we finally figured it out? june/18/2009

Question #7:

Do asteroids and meteorites leave radioactive traces when they hit earth?

I was arguing with a friend of mine the other day about the Tunguska event in the early 1900's. He says that a UFO crashed and I said it was a meteorite that exploded in the air. But then he told me that it left a radioactive trace behind. But it got me thinking, would a meteorite impact leave a significant amount of radioactivity.

P.S. I'm not looking for evidence of aliens. I'm only interested in astronomical facts.

Question #8:

Why do scientists think the Tunguska event was caused by a large meteoroid and not a comet?

Question #9:

What do you think of the new theory proposed for the Tunguska explosion?

Here is the Universe Today article:

It's a pretty cool proposal to explain the non-appearance of any piece of material from the object but I cannot seem to discount that an "earth-grazing" comet should have been visible before and after the event itself. New answer, more questions! Thanks in advance to those who would leave a reply!

Clear skies!..:-)
Overwhelming good replies!

Yahoo! seems overloaded, I cannot add any detail since yesterday.

I hope they can also cut one or two of the trees in the Lake Cheko area and see if indeed they are over a hundred years old or not as can be suggested by tree rings. There are suggestions that the trees around Lake Cheko are over a hundred years old so I guess if they are not felled down by the bolide, then Lake Cheko may not be the crater at all. Lake Cheko is 7-8km from ground zero but let's all wait and see what they can haul out from the bottom of the lake. Shatter cones around the lake would also be good indicators. I'm also interested in phoenix' statement regarding the spheroids.

Question #10:

Is it comforting to know that any moment could be your last?

What with the potential of Asteroid Impacts(Tunguska event), super volcano eruptions, Nucleur War, Hadron Collider expiriments gone wrong, tsunamis, deadly storms, 2012, and this is to say nothing of ordinary things like accidents in everyday life.

So, is it more invigorating, and does it give life more meaning to know that any moment could be the last, or it depressing to know that one can't be their own decider in all of this?

Question #11:

A meteor equal to 1000x Atomic Bomb passed us today so how safe is our future?

The meteor today mentioned on yahoo news, said that it was bigger than the one that hit in Siberia in 1908 (which had an impact of 1000 atomic bombs). look up the Siberia event if you dont believe me.

Do you think something this big or much bigger will hit us in the next decade?

Is it true that the Tunguska event was caused by a feminist with gas?

Question #13:

What do you think the Tunguska Event was?

Just wondering :D

Question #14:

why do scientist think the Tunguska event was caused by a large meteoroid and not a comet?

Question #15:

Why do meteoroids explode in midair?

Meteoroids such as the recent 2008 TC3, or the 1908 Tunguska event, had exploded in midair and not hit the ground.
Question is, why?

Thanks!

Question #16:

What is the feasibility of Tesla causing the Tunguska event?

I've been reading some stuff on the Tunguska event, and Tesla's death ray, but are they related?
I know that an aerial explosion is the "best" scientific explanation, but I'm asking if Tesla was actually to the point on his "death ray" to do it.

One of his projects consisted of bouncing electrical impulses through the ionosphere, and as the pulse went through, it gathered more and more energy. Every time it came back over, it was pushed again by another pulse, and Tesla supposedly overloaded the generators at the power plant in Colorado Springs because he was creating energy and sending it backwards.. But then again these are just stories.

Question #17:

Question to Jehovah's Witnesses regarding the war in heaven and Satan been cast down to earth?

I know the watchtower probably hasn't talked about this. But I was wondering what JW's thought.

It is regarding the casting down to earth before 1914 of Satan and the rebel Angels that sided with satan.

I have been investigating and stumbled on an event that happened prior to 1914. This occured in 1908, and the effext were seening globally.

It was something that fell from the sky, this was 1000x more powerful than hiroshima at a time when nuclear technology did not exit, shock waves were registered world wide and night were like day in Europe, Asia, and other parts of the world. It was a world event, with no evidence of whatever it was that fell from the sky. The biggest explosion in written history, right before 1914. I don't know, it just seems like it could be a possibility this could be what Luke 10:18 talks about.

To this day scientist don't know what it was that fell. Surely a comet or asteroid that big would have left remains. the problem is that it never hit earth, the explosion was in the sky, which agrees with Luke 10:18, and the light was seen world wide, most significant in Europe and Asia were night was literary like day light.

I mean World War 1, was not a total world event either. Many countries in South America and Africa were neutral, and some countries in Europe were neutral too... not involved in the war no? However the effect of WWI was felt world wide, kind of like this explosion. Some places more, some places less, but it sent global shock waves an light worldwide.

If this wasn't biblical, then whatever it was...it is a mistery. Please check this video, there are also others and you can check online on the tunguska event of 1908.
Adam's Rib, The explosion about the mysterious impact that happened in russia 1908 in tunguska is documented in newspapwer, articles and scientific comunity world wide. Evedince...are you serious? Just look online for photos, articles, discovery channel website, PBS, BBC, etc...LOL.

Also WW1 had many countries been neutral, Belgium, Spain, Norway, Findland, Denmark, Switerland, The Netherlands, these are only the European neutral countries during WWI. Many other countries in Africa and South Amercia were also neutral.
B R H, yes he was here since the beginning, but Satan was allowed to go back to heaven and roam around the universe. He entered God's courts in the book of Job. But in revelation it states that Satan was kicked out of heaven and was cast down to earth where he will remain until the end. Satan is not able to go back to heaven any longer. Earth is his prison.
