How long does it take do learn how to ice skate?

My little sister wants to learn how to ice skate. She's 13 and she has never ice skated before. She has rollerblades a few times, and she's okay but she can't go very fast. How long do you think it would take her to learn how to ice skate? I'm not talking pro, but just to be a regular person who can go out and ice skate and have fun.

What roller skates are best for me?

I'm a college student looking to get in some excercise. I used to rollerblade a lot as a kid, but now I want to return to quad skates for a while. I wouldn't mind a pair that wasn't as high-top as in-line skates, but I haven't skated quad in so long, I'm not really sure what pair to get. I want to be able to maybe advance and learn to do tricks in them, but I also want them to be suited for me and safe for someone so out of practice. I also think I'd like them to not be as heavy as rollerblades, just in case I ever decided to get around someplace near me in them.

Possible choices for me:

I need some serious answers! Help!?

Today, we were skating(on rollerblades) in P.E. and I was the worst one. I fell at least 20 times and the whole P.E. class was laughing at me and it hurt my feelings. So I blew my top and literally starting beating myself up. I fractured one of my knuckles, I punched myself in the face, I hit my head against the wall, and I threw the wristguards across the room in disgust and anger. Later today, a couple of people said to me, "Wow, you suck at skating" straight to my face.

I'm scared to go back to P.E. tomorrow, I personally think everyone is going to harass me and eventually hate me. I know this was my fault, I was just really depressed at the time. I'm a freshman in high school by the way :`(
I'm more of a smart person than an athletic person anyways...so if they laugh at me, I'll call them stupid and tell them that they're gonna be flipping burgers the rest of their life.
I am also diagnosed as having depression also.

Okay so my friend tells me Skateboarding is so much harder then Rollerblading, Is this really true? because i skateboarded but never got my ollie and theres really nothing that fun about it. So my friends try doing a 3 stair "ollie" but he's to scared to do it , but i go up and down the stairs with my rollerblades and he tells me "it's different" is it really that big of a difference? i mean for rollerblading and skating you can't jump with the fear of falling in your head we all share that in skating "Bmxing, scooters,Rollerblading,Sk8ing"

So last weekend i was on private property........?

I was on a private property, it had a "NO OUTLET" sign and a "Private Property" sign, the sign said "no skateboards, rollerblades, bikes" i wasn't on a bike or any of those other things, i was on foot. but i hopped over a privacy wall to get there, and then went past another wall to get out and up the hill to cross the street.. now before you judge me thinking i did all this for kicks. I got lost, and this parking lot was the only place i could find that lead to the main road.

Was i committing a crime by being on private property?
The person that said basically it's only tresspassing if i was asked to leave or i got caught, i googled it.. thats not true, just being on the property is illegal.

And mhw, i had no other route to go, and i didnt see the sign until i was actually in the parking lot... if i had gone any other way i would have ended up in traffic.

I'm looking for some rollerblades/roller skates (preferably rollerblades) with huge wheels. Huge wheels means anything from a 3-inch radius to a 12-inch radius.

My little brother means the world to me and he recently got into an accident. He fell on his rollerblades and split his chin open and had to get 4 stitches. He was such a brave little boy, he didn't cry at all. But I don't live with him. He lives on the other side of the US cause I live with my dad and he lives with my mom. My new rollerblades kinda broke so i need to use my old pair but they are all folded on the heel. I don't know how to explain.
There are these huge creases in the back of the heel and my blades need to be molded again but I need heaps of help!
