Question #1:

Question #2:

Is Al Gore as dumb as he is and has portrayed or is it some kind of act to sell science-fiction books?

I think when we're all dead and buried in this million degree Earth that we'll all owe the Supreme Court a debt for stopping any chance this moron had of becoming President
No I don't hate Al Gore, I dislike his politics and think his "humans are causing global warming 'science'" is laughable. He won't debate any serious scientist on the subject b/c he knows it's just a ploy to make money through ridiculous movies and junk vehicles that run on farts.
If he had been president on 9/11 he probably would have just lobbed a couple cruise missiles just like his messiah Clinton did when they bombed our embassies in Africa
yes, unfortunately I saw his movie, and if there was a debate I'd agree but like I said big Daddy Al won't debate the subject with anyone with a few credentials after their name, b/c that'd hurt his non-existent credibility

and Lincoln6 your right I'd can imagine what I'd say about Sarah too, LOL

Andrew, dude you spend way too much time in your mom's basement

Question #3:

What are the controlled and manipulated variables for my science fair project?

I need help urgently! I don't know exactly what my controlled and manipulated variables are for my science fair project and no it's not because I don't know anything in science, it's because we haven't been really practicing on variables and they get me confused.

My project is "Will a plant grow taller under sunlight or fluorscent light?"

~I'm giving them each the same amount of water...
~ Measuring each in cms the same...
~I measured them for a week. (the one under sunlight grew the tallest.)

Please no bad comments, this isn't the time for that. I'm already nervous and scared about presenting it, I just need to get help for the variables. It's due tomorrow so please can someone help soon?

Question #6:

Chances at the Ivy League?

I am planning to apply to most of the Ivy League schools. I applied to one of them early decision. My stats are:
GPA: 3.92 (UW), 4.60 (W), Class isn't ranked but probably top 2-3%
SAT: 2260
SAT IIs: Every Science and Math subject test - All 800s
APs: 6 through junior year, 11 upon graduation

I am the president of the math and science teams at my school. Both are competitive. On science, I rank usually 1st for the local level, and within the top 5 on the state level. In math, I usually rank in the top 20 on the local level, but never have been ranked by state or national.

I used to do math research. I had a project that was a bit unordinary, but I ended up digressing from the main subject and discovered my own theorem. I got 1st place at a math research fair of maybe 500 people.

I have done a few science research projects as well. Two were done at universities, but only one was of much significance. I happened to make a new discovery in that field as well, and my research mentor and I are currently writing a journal style paper to be peer-reviewed. My mentor has a lot of experience and said that within the next few months this will be published and my name will be listed as a co-author.

I have had a few internships and have done some community service, but my community service may amount to 100 hours, but most likely less.

I have gotten many awards mostly for science and math. I also have gotten a few scholarships, but worth small amounts.

I am white and from an affluent area, so no hooks. I am not a legacy at any Ivy.
eri: We can't rush the paper too much because a long process is inevitable with these papers. And, yes I already got a recommendation from the professor. He complimented me a lot, informing me that I was one of the most competent high school scientists he has ever met. He told me that I even outshine most of the undergraduates he works with.

Question #7:

Question #10:

What's with this artificial sperm thing...?

... that (some) feminists use to argue men are useless/obsolete?

If you read the research or have any knowledge on biology you know a Y chromosome is required for the sperm to mature. Or reach what is called 'meiosis'. Before this happens, human sperm is useless.

Also they made fully developed eggs from a male donor's stemcells because men have an X and that is needed to make a egg. A Y is needed to make either a X or Y sperm so where will women get that from? Men have both.

It's illegal also to fertilize eggs with fake sperm or fake eggs from a man, but if the laws are passed the scientists said they will not be interested in legalizing the use of artificial sperm/eggs only allowing infertile men to use sperm from their stemcells and intertile women to use stemcells to make their eggs.

So why are so many insecure females using this as ammo? Also surely men have better qualities that just our sperm?

Seems to me there's a reason why science is male dominated...
Laura D - Yes I know but you need a male Y chromosome so ha!

If you read this article you see the technique only works with male stemcells because they need a Y chromosome. That' what I'm saying.

Question #11:

how are prisms used in science?

Question #12:

How many followers of Dianetics and Scientology truly understand their principles?

The basics of Dianetics are from pychoanalysis (plagerized and redefined terms) and yet in actual practice do not work at all to heal the body or the mind.. The basics of Scientology, treating the spirit (thetan, from the greek word theta supposedly meaning spirit) are primarily mental exercises from "spotting spots in space" which may or may not be "anchor points" that are used to free the "spirit" from the body (compare exterior or out of body experience) to healing others "just by knowing what you identified as "charge" or "spiritual discomfort". The founder, LRH, couldn't get tax exempt status for his "modern science of mental health", so he created a "spiritual religion" to get tax exempt status for his "church". Dianetics covers the first 4 dynamics and Scientology covers last 4 dynamics. Evidently, he convinced enough people that his processes were working, at least apparently.

Since most of Dianetics and Scientology are based on "unworkable" and constantly "revised" principles. And it's followers still "believe" it works. Are they willing to testify under oath that their practices and techniques aren't at all harmful to human beings. Many people, including myself, accepted this new science as a science and couldn't care less if it were a religion or not as long as we were helping people to get better. Only the most advanced Scientologists were allowed to use their "new and advanced techniques" on paying clients. So since there are so many believers in the principles of Dianetics and Scientology, why hasn't there been "a technological breakthrough" in their church that so powerful and predicted by LRH to "shake the rafters of this universe and a few universes beyond"? Do we really know for sure that the "between lives area" is so occluded that we are unable to "remember our past lives" and unless we "handle present time problems" by paying for the help of Church Seniors, we may never know what our past lives were or who we were in past lives. Ya'd think that the many customers of LRH, and friends, would eventually understand they'd been "hood winked". I hadn't for a very long time.

Question #16:

Not having a girlfriend?(Girls and Boys are well come to answer this, but I am really looking for more answers?

from girls. Thank You.

I will explain about my self first, I am guy who is turning 21 in a couple months. I am not an American, but I am in America for about 5 years now and I am a resident, which means that I will become an American soon, and might live the rest of life year in US.
I did not had many friends since I was a kid, and don't have many more now either because I am in my second year of college and don't have time for hang out or anything.

I never had a girlfriend in my life (I am turning 21 soon), never even received a hug from a girl in my whole life. I have a part time job, excellent credit, always home before 9:00pm at night, staying with my parents, pursuing a degree in computer science, never lied or lie to any one, never even touched a Peni without anyone's permission, always honest, self confident, may be I am not handsome but okay guy, I do say some jokes some times to make people laugh, I am from a poor family, and etc.
I was just wondering if there is a girl out there for me in America who is same as me, has I said never even had a hug from a girl in my life. I mean I really want to talk to some one, some one whom I can sit with and talk slowly to her in quit place, some one who will lesson to me, I really want to spend money on her, buy her what ever she likes, take her on a long drives and vacations, kiss her, hug her, be in her life and etc. I mean there was times that I cried with myself in a locked room or when I am alone in my car or something, thinking about girls. I mean its frustrating to see ever girl has a boyfriend & and ever boy has a girlfriend.

There is 2 girls in my college, who are twins and I believe that they never had a boyfriend. I tried to start talking with them, but ignored my not once but a lot.

My Question is that as there someone like me out there in America a girl or a guy? Do you girls prefer to have guy in your life like me, or someone who had a lot of girlfriends in his life before? Do you think I am good guy, and normal? Please answer.
