Question #2:
Can Nancy Pelosi be trusted?
"As a member of the House Intelligence Committee, I am keenly aware that the proliferation of chemical and biological weapons is an issue of grave importance to all nations. Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (Democrat, California)

Question #3:
Army Reserve Information?
I am considering joining the army reserve under the Information Technology field but I want to explore other options such as the National guard. If you have experience in either or any other military program, can you tell me what their benefits are and why I should choose that program. Thanks. :)Question #4:
Health care slowly becoming prohibitively expensive, not just for people, but for all of society?
I'm curious if anyone else has noticed this. Most first world nations operate some form of universal health care. Treatment is often limited by wait times, but generally speaking everyone receives care in a fairly timely manner.
Over the last 30 years though, medical technology has become more and more advanced, and consequently more and more expensive. Heart transplants normally cost about $150,000. A lifetime course of AIDS medications in Canada, USA, Europe, etc. will cost about $600,000. Cancer treatment costs around $20,000 - $60,000 depending on the type, but if cutting-edge medication is used the cost can exceed $200,000.
It seems obvious to me that in the next 100 years (or sooner), no individual, organization, or government will have the economic resources available to treat everyone. More and more people will have to be turned away, unless they can pay themselves. Those who are treated will have to receive medical care that is significantly behind the available technology, and/or we will have to reallocate money from research into practical treatment.
We like to say that everyone has a right to health care, but sooner or later, this is going to be completely impossible, even in the richest countries. Do people realize this?

Question #8:
At the Six Flags Great America amusement park in Gurnee, Illinois, there is a roller coaster that...?
At the Six Flags Great America amusement park in Gurnee, Illinois, there is a roller coaster that incorporates some fo the latest design technology and some basic physics. Each vertical loop, instead of being circular, is shaped like a teardrop (Shown in the figure). The cars ride on the inside of the loop at the top, and the speeds are high enough to ensure that the cars remain on the track. The biggest loop is 35 m high, with a maximum speed of 31 m/s (nearly 69.44 mps) at the bottom. Suppose the speed at the top is 14 m/s and the corresponding centripetal acceleration is 3.2 g (where g is the free-fall acceleration). The acceleration of gravity is 9.8m/s^2. (Figure: Click Here )a) What is the radius of the arc of the teardrop at the top? Answer in units of m.
b) If the total mass of the cars plus people is 1837kg, what force does the rail exert on it at the top? Answer in units of N.
c) Suppose the roller coaster had a loop of radius 23 m. If the cars have the same speed (14 m/s) at the top, what is the centripetal acceleration at the top? Answer in units of m/s^2.
d) What is the normal force at the top in this situation? Answer in units of N.
I know this question is really long. So thank you thank thank you! to whomever decides to tackle it in advance. mwah <3

Question #10:
If someone is dying despite being on a respirator, why not put them on a machine that oxygenates their blood?
Someone I know died of pneumonia a few days ago; he was on a respirator but his lungs were so badly damaged that his oxygen levels were still really low. It seems to me that we have the technology to keep someone's blood supplied with oxygen (for instance, the heart/lung machine used in open heart surgery.) Why isn't something like this part of the protocol for people dying of pneumonia until their lungs can get better?Question #11:
Need some good ideas for a miniatures game campaign set in alternate sci-fi Earth...?
Ætherverse is/was an obscure science-fantasy multiverse table-top miniatures game by miniatures game designer Jason Lauborough; of which I have a copy. I'm thinking of starting an at-home campaign with possibly a few friends I can convince to play and maybe my non-wargaming father who might be convinced to play. I'd like some (at least relatively) original ideas for armies and campaign settings, preferably nothing to do with refighting Warhammer 40,000 rules in a different setting. The world setting in Ætherverse is a multiverse science-fantasy setting, which means almost anything is possible provided you have the right minis, and you can use any types of miniatures, so long as they are 25-30mm scale, to play. Sci-fi Romans fighting Tyranid-type things, the USMC fighting a race of robots, almost anything goes. But, I want to have a relatively coherent backstory, so I'm thinking of using the ideas behind the Worldwar books by Harry Turtledove (aliens invading Earth during WWII) as the base point.
What would (a) some good ideas for miniatures (25-30mm scale) for WWII men (Allies, Axis and Soviets) as well as suitable aliens (technology-using guys in over their heads, but preferably not the bog-standard lizards i.e. The Race, as I'm trying to be slightly different) that I could find in Australia for Australian dollars or at the very least get shipped to Australia at a relatively reasonable price in United States dollars?
I'm not sure if there's much help, but thank you for your time! :-) (Phew! Sorry for the wall of text!)
Question #12:
OK, I ummm, have a question for YA poets?
I read back to some of my earliest posts, and beyond, into my stacks of notebooks and napkins and scraps of unidentified stuff that i could put words on with a pen. i think it was called paper...lol...but I digress*, anyway i wondered if anyone else has gone through a similar media-morphisis.I have changed my style and my words are affected by text language and trends in the general media-oriented social interplay and ads and technology and then there is my imagination that used to wonder about the things that are happening now...and before southpark there was beavis and butthead... and before that --or maybe during beavis and butthead but definitely before southpark.....and now lolz and pw3nd and imho i don't know how to stop it from infiltrating my interaction with words and perceptions.
just would like your thoughts
BID is now but i digress!it also kinda looks like some sorta emoticon or whatever. hehe oh w8 lol k, bai
i forgot the * by BID, and then i was thinking that texting is almost like thinking at someone; and is that what is coming, a language for telepathic communications so there won't be so much misinterpretation?
Question #13:
What's the deal with lint bandages?
I've seen in a lot of historical accounts that lint was once used for bandages (back in the days before J&J).The only places I find lint are in the dryer trap and my navel. I know dryers are post J&J technology, and I doubt that navels were ever a significant resource, so where did all that lint come from?
And, anyway, if someone had a significant wound that just wasn't a candidate for band-aids, would dryer lint be practical and safe as for first aid?
Question #14:

Question #18:
Even if you're still in denial about global warming, are you disappointed at your fellow deniers' dishonesty?
Climategate, aptly named after Watergate where Republicans broke into Democratic headquarters looking for dirt but instead were exposed themselves, is in full swing. Similar to Watergate, no significant 'dirt' has been exposed. But no deniers seem to care that they're disseminating illegally-obtained emails. Many deniers are using this opportunity to blatantly lie. One denier linked to a technology website (DailyTech) blog which claimed James Hansen had previously intentionally falsified temperature data, for example, wording it in such a way as to treat this bald-faced lie as a well-known fact.
Many deniers are acting as thought these emails prove AGW is nothing more than an elaborate hoax.
Even if you're still in denial about global warming, are you disappointed at your fellow deniers' dishonesty?
Question #19:
Why is the first thing activists say ICE audits are tearing families part. Didn't actvists also say better?
Why is the first think activists say is ICE audit is tearing families part. Didn't activists also say better illegal immigration be left up to the feds and when the feds do it,the activists start in on audits are tearing families part and the feds must not enforce immigration matters ? EL PASO -- At least 41 businesses in El Paso will be part of a national audit of 1,000 businesses by federal officials looking for immigration violations in hiring workers. The audit will be among the biggest in El Paso by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a move that drew immediate criticism from a local immigrant-rights group.
The local businesses chosen for audits were not named, but the agency said on its Web site that all the businesses selected for inspection were the "result of investigative leads and intelligence É and connection to public safety and national security."
The Border Network for Human Rights, based in El Paso, opposed the audits.
"We are saddened and disappointed that two years after the disastrous 2007 immigration raids that tore apart families and penalized American businesses, the federal government is once again adopting a shortsighted enforcement-only approach to immigration policy," the group said in a prepared statement.
The group also said the federal government should concentrate its efforts on fighting crimes along the border such as drug trafficking and gang activity instead of "harassing hardworking families and business owners."
Of the 1,000 businesses nationwide, 161 are in Texas. In addition to the ones in El Paso, there are about 60 in the San Antonio area and 40 in the Houston area.
When the audits will take place and how they will be conducted has not been announced.
"ICE is focused on finding and penalizing employers who believe they can unfairly get ahead by cultivating illegal workplaces," ICE Assistant Secretary John Morton said on the agency's Web site.
According to The Associated Press, dairy farmers in Vermont were among the businesses getting notifications from immigration officials to turn over payroll and hiring records, said Kelly Loftus, spokeswoman for the Vermont Agency of Agriculture.
Some dairy farmers say they use foreign workers because it is hard to find people locally for the work.
Richard Dayoub, president and CEO of the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce, said, "They (ICE) are really taking an effort by their part to understand the depth of the problem. I'm not sure what they will accomplish."
At the same time, the Homeland Security Department announced it would give a seal of approval to businesses volunteering to use an electronic program to check workers' immigration status.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Thursday that the public should know which companies are following the law. The problem is that the program known as E-Verify is still under development, and the law does not require employers to use it. They are required to use a paper system.
E-Verify is an Internet- based system that allows employers to voluntarily determine the eligibility of new hires to work in the United States, using information provided on the employee's I-9 form.
The E-Verify campaign is being promoted by ICE as a way to help employers maintain a legal work environment.
"All employers have an obligation to assure that they have a work force that complies with the law," El Paso Mayor John Cook said. "They E-Verify system will implement technology to assist employers with that responsibility."
Cindy Ramos-Davidson, CEO of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, said she felt that the E-Verify system was not up to speed, and that all it took was one small error to set up a business for litigation.
The last nationwide audit conducted by ICE resulted in 14,000 suspicious documents.
The Border Network for Human Rights said in its statement that it "hopes that the Obama administration will rethink this outdated strategy and keep his campaign promise to implement comprehensive immigration reform."

Why do activists feel illegals should not be held to any standard in the work place and ICE should not bother illegals even when they use document , stolen documents as such documents enable illegal to have a better life and current laws are unjust. People feel its ok to break laws without any punishment since what they are doing is offering them a better life ? Is this how
activists believe our immigration laws must be directed ?
Why is the first thing activists say ICE audits are tearing families apart.
