Is there something out there like tivo that records over the air tv?

I have a digital converter box hooked up to my TV to receive the free local over the air television. Is there something out there like tivo that can record the TV shows I want so I can watch them later without paying a monthly fee? Thanks.

I am not interested in a DVD recorder, I already have one of those.

The * means exponent. The exponent sign on my computer does not work.

My son has been acting depressed lately. He is starting to refuse his daily chore list so my husband and I decided to cut off his internet/television/movies/music/games/books/artistic media/phone/sheets on his bed/and heat to his room. We basically stripped his room down to a mattress (no box springs), on a concrete floor. We are sending him to his biological father's house for Thanksgiving. While he's my husband is going to rough up his floor with a sledge, and tear the drywall and insulation down in his room. He's also thinking about cutting off power to the room, but I think this is a trivial pursuit as my son won't be using electricity anyways. Should we try putting him on anti-depressants?
Also, my husband hates my son very much.

Is it safe to touch a broken television?

Hello,

There is a 36" CRT television that someone left in the middle of the sidewalk in my neighborhood. Somebody threw a cinderblock through the screen and broke the unit into pieces. Now there are broken pieces of glass and plastic littering the sidewalk. It's been there for a week now and nobody has done anything about it. I really want to just pick it up and throw it away in a contractor bag, but I am nervous as I have heard the CRT sets can contain lead, mercury, and the picture tubes are radioactive when broken. Would it be safe to just pick up the pieces and throw it away?

Could Chris Pontius be gay?

I know he walks around being all manly and whatnot, and all his pseudo-gay bits on his shows were probably just for television, but if you actually sit back and consider it, do you think Chris Pontius could be gay?

Maybe it is just for tv, but he always seemed way too comfortable doing gay sorts of things on the shows, [Jackass and Wildboyz] and it looked like it flowed naturally for him, like he was used to doing it and it wasn't nearly as awkward as he pretended it to be.

I could be wrong, but either way, I'd like some other opinions in this.

Hi there :) we just bought a big 1990 Mitsubishi television. now we hooked up our wii in the back, we went to the input channel thingy, and it said we needed a 4 digit code to use the channel.The people we bought it from do not remember the code. Does anyone know how to reset it?

I was living in the Netherlands in 1998 - 99 and there was a CD collection advertised, constantly, on television. It was sold as, something to the effect of, the greatest collection of driving songs ever. Okay, so I need a great video editing program and I have narrowed it down to these two. What are the pros and cons of each OR if you choose one over the other, why did you choose it? I need this software so I can make movies (obviously). One kind I need to make is a video for my high school graduation. My friend and I are going to gather media from all of our seniors and make a video to play at our graduation in May so I need software for that. Why isn't parachuting a part of the safety regime when traveling by plane?

When I look at the news and see where planes are just falling out of the sky and multiple lives have been lost, I feel very upset about the entire situation. Airplanes provide flotation devices, oxygen masks, and other safety mechanisms for passenger and staff safety, but why aren't parachutes also provided for safely exiting a plane in emergency situations? Is it because there isn't enough time? Or is it because of the latch on the doors or that television/movie disaster I saw that shows planes imploding when doors are opened? I'm really curious about this.
