It was this demonstration that got me hooked on the weird world of Quantum physics . I am no expert but The idea that sub-atomic particles have a dual nature a solid and a wave is fascinating . I am leaning towards the many worlds interpretation but the implications of that are well out of this world or shall I say out of this universe. I have a 11 year old sister and 12 year old cuzen, I want them to get into the holiday spirt cause this hole time they have just been playing video games on the Wii and xbox , they said cause there's nothing else to do so I want some craft ideas for christmas. Will a new video card work?

For 2 days ago, my pc got blue screen while playing a Half Life 2 mod called Garry's Mod, and my pc totally crashed. When i tried to boot up again i got blue screen right before the login.
After i tried to start in safe mode and i uninstalled my video card i could log in to windows, but before all this my screen got retarded and lots of strange colors (pink, green, blue etc.) whitch eather was the driver or the video card. I tried reformat my pc but it only showed an error at 100% that there was something wrong with a hardware and the formatting failed. Then i go tierd of errors and colors so i opend my laptop and removed and inserted my video card and magically it worked, the colors where gone! Yay! But... When i reformatted my pc (witch worked now) and did all the windows update and avg stuff i started download my steam games. When Half life 2 was finished i tried to boot that game and test it if my pc worked...when the 3D menu finished loading my pc crashed again, and the colors where back, this proved that my video card is dead... So i ordered a new one from ebay. If i replace this card, will my pc work then?

My Pc:
Acer Aspire 5920g (Laptop)
GeForce 8600m gs 256mb
Intel Core 2 Duo 1,8 Ghz
3 GB DDR2 RAM

What video card i ordered:
GeForce 8600m gt 512mb

One week after i purchased my pc the same pc come out with the gt video card, just a little more expensive.
What makes the problem?
- Graphic Card
- System RAM
- HDD
- Another Hardware

If you know whats causing the trouble please answer with one of those possible reasons :)

Best Friend And Her Boyfriend....Please Help!!?

Ok well my best friend is in her first serious relationship with a guy...they have been going out for almost two months and are now in love with each other. Dont get me wrong I love seeing her finally so happy....she really deserves it but well heres the part Ive been having issues with. Well we usually spend the night at one of our good good friends house(lets call her X) so we can hang out with our guy friends (we both have really strict parents). Well as it getts later in the night we tend hang out in X's brothers room with our guy friends and usually play video games or we go to the park. Well usually at this point my best friend and her boyfriend go away to be just and make out (no worries thats all they do). This gets on my nerves...but I feel bad because shes not allowed to hang out with her boyfriend any other time(her parents think shes gonna like have sex with a guy if shes alone with them for no reason plus I know for a fact shes not into that crap). I just feel like she doesnt want to hang with me anymore....and when we do hang out without her boyfriend she always talks about him. And ugh I miss her and I just dont feel like myself anymore. Is this just like part of the begining stages of a relationship? And do you thing Im being to uptight and should just let go? I feel so bad getting mad about it because she really does deserve it....ugh

Should I go visit my friends in America?

I live in Paris, France, and I love to visit America whenever I can. For the past year, I've been in touch with a guy my age (I'm 18) who lives in Florida. I met his friends thru video chatting and we've had long, extensive conversations about any topic you could think of. He's a college student in UF and lives in an apartment with 3 other guys (one of whom I've met).

Two months ago we were talking about one of us traveling to meet the other in person. He doesn't have a passport so we decided I went over there. I was questioning the whole thing, but after talking to my parents and having them approve, and the low flight costs and plus him agreeing to fully tender my needs and accommodation arrangements, I decided to book a flight.

Since that flight was booked, I've had ongoing thoughts and fears from going to a foreign country, to people whose lower limbs I haven't even seen ^^. I've been to A a couple of times, but it was with family, never alone. It's my first time traveling alone like this and I'm very scared of multiple possible occurrences. Moreover, I'm due to stay over for 1 month. The closer I get to that date my reservations are growing and my confidence ebbs.

I've been able to think of so many reasons why I DO want to go, but so many reasons why I shouldn't. Canceling the flight would cost me 150$, but would allow me to avoid possible fun, and possible disgrace.

About staying with them, I'm very VERY "don't enter my personal space" and I constantly need my corner to be alone in. I NEVER feel comfortable at other people's houses or even at hotels I feel really awkward. It's rather funny, writing this it seems appropriate that this should be my letter of concession to him ^^.

However, I've been dreaming about how good it could be. I've longed for visiting america, and plus on my own, that could really be a blast. I cannot think of why I would otherwise have reservations from doing this. I remember being completely flabbergasted by the abundance of prosperity in America when I first went there, I would really love to revisit those experiences with greater joy.

How do you feel about this? Would you go? (and I'm referring to the random person reading this, I just need a rational, non-biased opinion)

ok, im trying to decide between the ipod touch 8gb and the ipod nano 8gb. i like the camera on the nano and i like the apps on the touch. the nano is $50 cheaper but has a smaller screen and no wifi. also i heard that the ipod touch breaks and scratches easy. the phone im getting is the samsung omnia and i am getting internet that i would have to pay for. so i don't know if i should get the touch if my phone can do the same thing. the nano seems more pocket size and it has a microphone built in. i plan to take videos with it but the phone im getting has a 5mp camera in it. what do you think i should do get a nano or touch? i don't want to spend more money if i don't have to. also i need an ipod for music so i don't have to take up room on my phone.

How to connect Geforce 8800GT to standard analog TV?

So here's my issue: I have been trying to get my TV to act as a monitor for my PC since my Gateway LCD 17" is busted. I do not currently have an HDTV do HDMI is out of the question. The card is a Gigabyte Geforce 8800GT with 2 DVI-I outputs and a S-video output. I comes with an S video to composite RGB (YPrPb) and Svidout. I do not want to use S-Video, because it greatly reduces resolution and loses pixels as it travels down a 5' or longer wire. I want my TV to have the highest picture quality it can give which should be around 720 to 800 which is standard. My TV has the usual older RYW composite connections on the back and no s-video or vga. I have a DVI-M to VGA-F Adapter Converter, a VGA Male to s-video and 3 RCA converter cable, and Male to male R,W,Y cables which plug into the back of TV. What is the best possible setup to use? I am thinking that this would work: DMI to VGA -->VGA to RCA/svideo ---> Red, yellow, white composite cables to tv. Works? Again I would try to avoid using S-video. THanks. Much help is appreciated!

Why are my parents being so cruel and spiteful to me?

Today my 6-year old cousin came down; I was planning to watch Hannah Montanna on TV but my mom said I had to put on Bedknobs and Broomsticks (an old video) for him I told her no and took the remote of my cousin and switched over to Disney channel. My dad came in and took the remote of me and called me selfish. I started to cry and my mom came in and told me to get over myself; I ran out crying and my dad shouted "Now you have something to moan about on the internet" Those words shocked me to the core; how could he be so sarcastic and cruel to me? I'm their 17-year old daughter and besides a 6-year old boy is too old to be watching films like that.
but I am a girl; it is ok for girls to watch stuff they are too old for.
I'm very sensetitive
